If we can embrace circumstances rather than react to them, we can discover goodness in the present space of our life. In this public talk Jakob presents the insights of the Buddha and his teachings on integrating these insights into our own existence.
$15 waged / $10 concession

Saturday 25th - 10am-4pm - Workshop
Mastering Mind and Life - Foundations of Buddhism
The Buddha taught how we can master our life. He taught how we have nothing to lose when we open ourselves and engage with the world. We are encouraged to doubt what we can actually rely on and have faith in. Hope and doubt are two of the three emotions that create instability in our trust and inner-confidence. During this public talk Dzogchen Rinpoche will explain why we are constantly fooled by our emotions and that only when we learn how not to take them too seriously, can we experience genuine happiness and peace. Based in attachment, one of the three poisons, they are like thieves that deceive us and steal our inner peace. Unable to satisfy our desires, we are like fish drawn to the bait on a fisherman’s hook. Only when we recognise and overcome our hope and fear, can we truly rest. During this retreat Dzogchen Rinpoche will explain how we can realise this stability within ourselves.

Bookings & Information - 0416 404 826 - sa@shenpenaustralia.org - Shenpen Australia

Greetings and welcome to all of you.

I want to begin by saying that I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Buddhist Council of South Australia this year. The year has felt very productive, full of interesting events, issues and discussions. Our meetings are always lively and amicable and it is a privilege to work with such committed and dedicated people.
