Venerable Geshe Khensur Rinpoche's Address to BCSA (AGM 2006-2008) Download.pdf (490kB)VKR-w120.jpg
Venerable Rinpoche requested to be informed of the number of Buddhist Organisations in South Australia, how many have become Members and how many Member Organisations are in attendance here today.
“Thank you all for coming. Thank you to all those who put effort, the administrators, the committee, previous committees and administrators, for all their effort and works. Thank you for inviting me to this meeting. Thank you for inviting me to speak.
“I am extremely happy that all of us are working together. The BCSA attempts to preserve the pure teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni and I really appreciate you doing that. I am very happy to all of you for your courageous goal of preserving Buddha’s teachings. It is very encouraging that there is now 30 organisations in South Australia. It would be very beneficial to continue to encourage the other groups not yet involved to become involved in the Council. It is of great benefit to the community that the Buddhist Council preserves the Buddha’s teachings.

Saturday 25th - 10am-4pm - Workshop
Mastering Mind and Life - Foundations of Buddhism
The Buddha taught how we can master our life. He taught how we have nothing to lose when we open ourselves and engage with the world. The practice of meditation provides the tools for familiarising ourselves with actually being present, as well as cultivating a greatness of mind that embraces life, as it is. This one day workshop with Jakob will balance mindfulness practice with discussions.

Public Talk - Wednesday 29th September
Why the Mind Experiences Hope and Doubt

Often we hope for permanence in situations where we should accept the inevitability of change and loss. We are encouraged to doubt what we can actually rely on and have faith in. Hope and doubt are two of the three emotions that create instability in our trust and inner-confidence. During this public talk Dzogchen Rinpoche will explain why we are constantly fooled by our emotions and that only when we learn how not to take them too seriously, can we experience genuine happiness and peace. Three-Day Dzogchen Retreat
Thurs 30th Sept - Sun 3rd Oct - Mylor SA
How to Recognise and Overcome Hope and Fear

In Tibetan Buddhism hope and fear are regarded as internal enemies which prevent us from resting our mind. Based in attachment, one of the three poisons, they are like thieves that deceive us and steal our inner peace. Unable to satisfy our desires, we are like fish drawn to the bait on a fisherman’s hook. Only when we recognise and overcome our hope and fear, can we truly rest. During this retreat Dzogchen Rinpoche will explain how we can realise this stability within ourselves.
