Insight Meditation Retreat - 25th July -3rd August 2008

Buddhist Insight Meditation Retreat - with Patrick Kearney - 25th July to 3rd August 2008
Woodhouse Centre, Adelaide Hills

Insight (Vipassana) meditation fosters inner calm, clarity of mind and the development of compassion and wisdom. This 10-day, silent retreat is suitable for both beginning and experienced practitioners. The retreat is supported through establishing silence and minimizing distraction. It includes daily instruction on meditation technique along with talks on Buddhism and its relevance to daily life. Individual consultations with the teacher will be available. Accommodation is in shared dorms (3-6 people) Nourishing vegetarian meals are provided.

The Buddhist Council of South Australia will convene its Annual General Meeting for 2006-2008

Saturday 6th September 2008 at 1:30pm

at Independent Advocacy Board Room - 99 Frome Street, Adelaide.

We encourage Member Organisations of the BCSA to send representatives along to the meeting.
Your representatives include your organisation's nominees for BCSA office positions and will represent your Buddhist organisation and vote on items at the AGM. If at the AGM your organisation is selected as an 'Ordinary Member' of the Management Committee then your representative will serve as Member on the BCSA Management Committee for the coming year.

Keep in mind that all Committee positions fall vacant each year and we would encourage you to nominate someone from your organisation as candidate for BCSA Management positions of Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Vice-Chair.

I would ask that you respond before 22nd August 2008
i) who will be your representatives attending the meeting : Notification of Accredited Delegates Form
ii) which office positions your representatives seek. Application for Office Form

On arrival please register your attendance with the BCSA representative at the registration desk.
A member organisation’s accredited delegate should also register the member organisation which they represent and receive a voting card.

Applications for positions of office on BCSA Management Committee

A Member Organisation's Accredited Delegate(s) are eligible to run for the offices of
Chairperson, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer of the Council.

Please give careful consideration to these important roles, complete the Application Form and forward to:

before 22nd August 2008 in order to become a candidate for election to office.

Notify the Council of your "Accredited Delegates"

Each Member Organisation is represented on the Council by their "Accredited Delegates".

In order to be represented, a Member needs to inform the Council of the names of the persons whom it accredits as its delegates,
and is free to revoke or alter the accreditation of a delegate at any time.

You can check if we have received your notification by viewing the listing we have for your organisation under "Member Organisations"

Once your organisation has accredited its delegates:
